Lecture on the use of technology in the Japanese language classroom, University of Pittsburgh The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures is hosting Dr. Abigail McMeekin, from the University of Lethbridge, next Thursday, April 15th, at 4:00pm. Dr. McMeekin will be giving a talk on using technology in the Japanese language classroom. The talk is being done virtually through Zoom. The link to the talk is included in the attached flyer. March 31 Japan-America Society of Washington DC is a few room monitors short of their goal for the 2020 Digital Japan Bowl particularly on Thursday where we are hoping to recruit at least 6 more volunteers for Level II and Level III. We welcome volunteers on both days so that we can have back-up volunteers or alleviate the responsibilities on our current volunteers. We will train all of the volunteers in advance, so one hands-on training session will be required for all volunteers. Japan Bowl Preliminary Round session times Thursday, April 8: Level II 12:30-2:10 pm EDT Level III 2:20-4:00 pm EDT Level IV 4:10 -5:50 pm EDT Friday, April 9: Level II 12:15-2:15 pm EDT Level III 1:55-3:55 pm EDT Level IV 3:30 -5:30 pm EDT (volunteers should be prepared to log in at least 20 minutes before the preliminary round to confirm that they have no tech issues).
